Partridge has featured in several television series and the 2013 film Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa. While working with Armando Iannucci on On the Hour and The Day Today, Coogan developed the character of Alan Partridge, a socially inept and politically incorrect media personality. In 1999, he co-founded the production company Baby Cow Productions with Henry Normal. In the 1990s, he began creating original characters. He began his career in the 1980s as a voice actor on the satirical puppet show Spitting Image and providing voice-overs for television advertisements.
